Learning process (Feldenkrais® method)
- A relationship is established between the teacher and the student.
- Develops options of a potential not yet explored to act effectively and with pleasure, favoring a broader expression, observing that the limitations or restrictions that a person experiences are diminished although this is not the main objective. Decrease limitations or restrictions through learning and not by correction.
- It allows the best use of the student in the field of gravity: that is, in harmony with the laws of physics. With the fundamental biomechanical principles, taking the time to understand them and live them personally.
- The focus of learning is the awareness where:
Perception: given by the sense organs of the person refining the kinesthetic and proprioceptive sense.
Orientation: Within space and synchronization in time.
Balance: interaction of the person (SNC) with the force of gravity in conjunction with the environment.
- The student is active and the responsibility for learning depends on him.
- The teacher creates a space of options for the student to develop their abilities within an organic learning within the framework of consciousness.
- The interest of the teachers of the Feldenkrais method is the invitation to the verbal accompaniment of the experience, the use of the imagination through the kinesis, the verbal or non-verbal interaction between the participants, the communication by touch and the emotional expression or artistic.
- The teacher is interested in the student understanding:
Learning and not correction.
Taking consciousness and not automatism
Self-responsibility, not being an expert.
Understand what we do, to learn to do what we want, instead of being objects of what happens to us.
- Student: Active Attitude.
The sensations and the results they obtain depend on the way in which they are organized.
They must be willing to spend time with themselves in the intimacy of their lived experience.
Take charge of your status and progress.
Therapy.
- A relationship is established between the therapist or therapist and the patient.
- Observe the divided or segmented person (body, mind) during the object of their study although they know that in the function they are integrated. The indivisibility and individuality of the person has not yet been assimilated by some therapists.
- Consider psychosomatic and pathological conditions.
- Anguish, frustration, etc. They alter mental and bodily functions. They maintain the body-mind relationship.
- The result of the treatment depends on the adherence and the response to it. There are no illnesses but sick people (Claude Bernard).
- Focus the treatment to recover the dysfunctions of the organs or parts of the body to fight the diseases.
- Interprets the disease as a set of signs and symptoms that define a particular state and evolution.
- Establish a diagnosis, a treatment and a prognosis (in which there may be sequelae as a result of the disease).
- The Patient Therapist relationship is based on:
It is a transaction, Sist. of reciprocal interaction, both intellectual and emotional that incorporate what the therapist and the patient think, feel, do and receive from each other.
It is based on feelings of trust, faith and hope.
Passive attitude of the patient, the therapist does something for the patient without his participation in the action. Although from the psychology the attitude is more active in the patient.
When the patient is conscious and interacts with the therapist cooperating taking an active attitude in both distributing the responsibility.
The patient obeys the orders of the therapist being an unequal power, so the responsibility will fall on the therapist more than on the patient, at least that is an appreciation that the patient lives.
- Patient: Passive Attitude.
They think that recovery depends on the outside.
They do not assume their responsibility in the results of their actions.
The status of your progress depends on the capacity of the professional who attends them.
