Third example: A person who is in his office located on the 1st floor of an 8-story building, everyone in his office has the indication that in the earthquake do not evacuate the office area until the earthquake ends and is only placed in the security or lower risk areas, and as soon as the earthquake ends, evacuate the building, during the beginning of the earthquake he begins to despair to such a degree that he feels that he is short of air and needs to leave that place, for which he decides to run down the stairs of the building during the earthquake, when going down some finishes of the stairs begin to fall and hurt him, but in his desperate flight he does not pay attention to the physical damage he is experiencing until he leaves the building and stands in a place where he He feels safe, at that moment he realizes that he has a deep cut on his back, and shortly after he loses consciousness, when he regains consciousness he is in a hospital, when the medical staff informs him of his state of health Lud, he begins to ask about his family and colleagues, he is informed that at the moment they do not know anything, this is where the non-functional part of stress begins, he begins to produce a series of ideas that lead him to feel insecure, anguished, and with the need to leave the hospital and meet his loved ones, all this mechanism of tension that is generated by the lived experience builds a prolonged state of stress, since several elements in his life are affected that lead him to Feel insecure, instability in their emotional or tension systems, they are physically impaired, affecting their mobility, being able to contact their relatives, they find the information that their house was affected by the earthquake and they lost all their belongings, the building where his work was also was tremendously damaged, all of the above added to build instability in the labor, social and economic plane. With the passage of time, he is a person who is constantly living insomnia, begins to have gastrointestinal problems, his mood declines, he has trouble concentrating on his ideas, he is a person who is manifesting the organic trauma that he has for everything he has experienced and experienced since the earthquake.
So I can continue generating options so that they can understand how an organic trauma is constructed, and there are many other factors that are experienced in everyday life, such as accidents, assaults, surgeries that affect or compromise the life of the person, situations of prolonged violence in any stage of life, etc. What does the person experience when faced with an organic trauma? We will see that the manifestations may vary in each individual but if we put a general panorama taking into account that this is not with the intention of constructing a form that only pigeonholes this type of manifestations, we can observe that There is an intense response in the person, it increases the tension in a greater way than in the states of alert, to what is called an over alert, there may be an inability to move, it begins to manifest terror, its respiratory rhythm is modified presenting itself faster and with little volume, the speed of their thoughts is modified, and after this sensation little by little it begins to recover its function and attitude it becomes more normal, if we observe this conceptual map of what the person experiences and we remember the manifestations of death we will see that are very similar, so I mention again the importance of seeing the person as that indivisible functional unit that Mosh e Feldenkrais proposes and Peter Levine. When working with a person who experiences organic trauma, it is important not to see it as a pathology but as a person who experiences a difficulty as a result of a natural process that has been skewed, and that it is necessary to establish a strategy where options can be built so that the individual can gradually produce in it a base that allows him to integrate the information that he could not assimilate not only on the cognitive area but also on the organic and experiential area.
